Common Questions About Estate Administration Pricing

What does the $2,200 fixed fee cover?

Our fixed fee covers preparing your Application and supporting affidavits, arranging for the documents to be witnessed, usually online, lodging the Application with the Court, and providing the Grant to you once it is issued. The fixed fee applies to both Probate and Letters of Administration. Court filing fees and other outlays are charged separately and will be confirmed with you before lodgement. You will also have access to an estate administration lawyer throughout the process to answer your questions, explain what is happening, and guide you through each step.

What are outlays?

Outlays are third-party costs we pay on your behalf, such as the Supreme Court filing fee and the Queensland Law Reporter notice. They are separate from our professional fee and passed on at cost. We confirm the current amounts with you before the Application is lodged.

When are hourly rates charged on top of the fixed fee?

Hourly rates apply only when an estate involves added complexity — for example, a long-delayed administration, an executor who has died or lost capacity, overseas executors, or court requisitions. We estimate the likely range upfront and keep you informed as the work progresses.

How much does it cost to transfer property from an estate?

Property transfers are charged at $750 each plus outlays. This covers transfers from the deceased to the estate, recording a death on jointly held property, and final transfers to beneficiaries. Outlays include the property search, Queensland Titles Office fee, and PEXA electronic conveyancing cost.

What is included in complete “done for you” administration?

Complete Administration covers everything in a standard and complex application, plus full handling of the estate — property and bank transfers, superannuation, unusual assets or Will terms, and locating missing beneficiaries. You have advice and access to your lawyer throughout. This work is charged at hourly rates, typically $2,500 to $10,000.
