Direct Lawyers was founded by Principal Lawyer Dion McCurdy in 2020, with a clear purpose: to provide specialist Wills and Estates advice that is genuinely accessible, personal, and plain English.
We practise exclusively in succession law. That means every piece of advice we give is grounded in Queensland estate law — not a generalised, multi-area approach.
Our team works with clients at all stages of life — whether that’s drafting a first will, navigating probate after a loss, establishing a testamentary trust, or resolving an inheritance dispute.
We offer in-person mobile appointments for Brisbane clients and online appointments for clients across Queensland.
We draft and update wills, structure estate plans, apply for probate, administer deceased estates, and represent clients in estate litigation. Our work covers the full lifecycle of Wills and Estates law — from planning ahead to resolving disputes.
We work with individuals creating or updating their wills, couples planning their estates, executors managing a deceased estate, beneficiaries in dispute, and families who have lost a loved one without a will in place.
Our areas of expertise include Will drafting and updates, Estate Planning, Testamentary Trusts, Estate Administration and Probate, Letters of Administration, and Estate Litigation.
We take the time to understand your circumstances before giving advice. Our appointments are thorough, our language is plain, and our fees are fixed and transparent. We believe good legal advice should feel straightforward — not stressful.
Direct Lawyers practises exclusively in Queensland succession law. Our expertise covers every stage — from planning your estate to administering it, and resolving disputes when they arise.

We practise only in Wills and Estates law. Our advice is specific to Queensland succession law — not diluted across multiple areas of practice.
Principal Lawyer Dion McCurdy has practised exclusively in Wills and Estates since 2013, across boutique, mid-tier, and independent firms before founding Direct Lawyers.
We come to Brisbane clients at home, work, or a location that suits them. For clients across Queensland, we offer online appointments with the same quality of advice.
For most matters, we quote a fixed fee before we begin. No surprises, no hourly billing anxiety — just clear, upfront pricing for every matter we handle.
A focused session with one of our lawyers to: review your circumstances, explain your options clearly, and give you a personalised plan you can act on.
You leave with genuine legal advice — not general information.
Still unsure? Our free 10-minute discovery call is the place to begin. We will listen, point you in the right direction, and let you know honestly whether we can help.
